The Probability of Benioff And Weiss leaving Star Wars Trilogy
I recall on October 29th, 2019, coming across Midnight's Edge critique on the $200 M deal with NETFLIX, that both guys were leaving Lucasfilm's proposed Star Wars trilogy with them at the helm.
My belief is that both secured the deal with Netflix due to the backlash over the final season of Game of Thrones Season 8 (mostly), yet could there've been more than meets the eye? As mentioned in the Youtube video, there is a possibility that they left due to the deal despite their profess admiration for Star Wars and decided to take a more ideal approach to explore their own ideas further for the future. This could be accurate, though, one looks at possibilities and the probability that they really left due to the backlash and probably knew that working on a Star Wars film- yet alone a trilogy- would provide heavy baggage on an otherwise existing heavy burden on their shoulders.
It's a shame in one unique perspective that they are good storytellers, they handled George R.R. Martin's world to the best of their ability- despite not really knowing much about what to do after the source material was used up; let us not forget George's progress over his final books are somewhat weaning a little- that in itself is a burden indeed, therefore I can personally give both guys some leverage. Nevertheless, I only watched the first three seasons and the backlash is up to those who watched all seasons, and in place of a better word, I think the reaction since is...... mild. I think the backlash isn't as strong as perhaps right after the final season ended, but a lot of them (followers), I think and feel, are more forgiving. This is due to what I have expressed above lightly. Personally, I think the videos on Youtube about Benioff and Weiss in relation to GoTs brings a proper in-depth analysis of the whole situation.
Reminder to self: below link about what I've said. I feel there is more to add, but this seems legit. I probably should've written this when fully alert. Oh well, it's done and it's something to say anyway.
